Abraj al Bait is the 4th tallest skyscraper in the world. It stands behind Shangai Tower ,Merdeka118 and Burj Khalifa It is located in Masjid al-Haram, the holiest mosque in Islam, which surrounds the Kaaba. It is Abraj Al-Bait 601 meters (1,972 feet). The skyscraper includes a luxury hotel, apartments, shopping malls, and pray areas. The most unique feature is the massive clock face on the tower, which is one of the Biggest clock faces in the world.
The clock on Abraj Al-Bait is known as the “Royal Clock” or “Mecca Clock.” It Shows four massive clock faces, each of which is 43 meters (141 feet) in diameter. The clock is designed to be Shown from a distance and is light up at night. The clock also displays both the Gregorian and Islamic calendars. This feature is important for Muslim pilgrims who follow the Islamic calendar.
The construction of Abraj Al-Bait began in 2004 and was completed in over several years. It was officially put in place in 2012.The architecture of the Skyscarper used a blend of modern and Islamic styles, include elements from Islamic architectural traditions while including modern technology.
The construction of Abraj Al-Bait costed abouat billions of dollars and it is considered one of the most expensive buildings in the world.
